Meet Ben Rue, your new favorite country singer

You don't have to be a country music fan (yet) to love Ben Rue. His positive attitude and incredible talent are winning over people everywhere. And chances are you've heard his song, "I Can't Wait (Be my Wife)" at a wedding this year.

But long before he was a popular member of the Nashville country music scene, Ben learned to live with type 1 diabetes.

"I've had diabetes over half of my life," explains Ben. "Long nights on the road have become a daily routine for me, so it's important to have something I can rely on - that’s why I use the Accu-Chek® Guide meter."

Ben has teamed up with Roche Diabetes Care, the makers of Accu-Chek Guide, to travel across the country to share his story and motivate others to get involved in the #BuckOffDiabetes campaign, which encourages people to take diabetes by the horns and live their lives as active and unrestricted as possible.

“Just like riding a bull, there are many ups and downs to managing a condition that can be both complicated and expensive,” said Ben. “I’m excited to tour the country to get as many people as we can to join the #BuckOffDiabetes movement. Diabetes affects so many of us, so get out your cameras and share your photos to donate to organizations that are making a difference.”
