Let us be grateful to people who make us happy,
they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
- Marcel Proust
Who do you want to be next? If you're feeling like you're in a rut, spring is the right time to awaken your spirit and give yourself a fresh start.
- Create a positive plan. Choose a goal, a topic you want to learn more about or a trait you'd like to evolve. Think about what it would take to get there. Breaking the idea down into steps can help a vague goal take shape and make it real.
- Give your weaknesses a nod. Acknowledging personal hurdles can help you make plans to get past them. Lacking confidence? Enlist a friend. Tend to get distracted? Carve out specific blocks of time. Easily bored? Commit to the first 30 days. By the time that's over, it'll be a habit.
- Get out of your comfort zone. By the time we're adults, we rarely spend time doing anything we're not already good at. Learning anything new is scary. But it's also exciting. Take the risk and soon you'll be enjoying the rewards.
