The control solution acts like blood when applied to Accu-Chek Guide test strips. Running a control test lets you know that the meter and test strips are working properly.

The Accu-Chek Guide control solution can be used with the following Accu-Chek meters and strips:

• Only use the Accu-Chek Guide control solutions with your Accu-Chek Guide test strips. 
• Do not put the control solution in your mouth. Do not inject the solution. They are for use outside the body only. 
• Close the control solution bottle tightly after use. 
• The unopened control solution is stable until the Use By date printed on the bottle label (24 months from date of manufacture) if the control solution is stored properly. Do not use a control solution that is past the Use By date. 
• Write the date you open the bottle on the bottle label. The control solution must be discarded 3 months from that date or on the Use By date printed on the bottle label, whichever comes first. 
• Store the control solution bottle at room temperature (39–86 °F) and 10–90 % relative humidity. Do not freeze the control solution. 
• The meter automatically recognizes the difference between the control solution and blood. 
• The control solution can stain fabric. Remove stains by washing with soap and water. 
• This product contains small parts that can be swallowed. Keep the small parts away from small children and people who might swallow small parts.
