How to use the Accu-Chek Smart Pix device reader

Using the Accu-Chek Smart Pix device reader is simple:

  1. Connect the reader to your computer.
  2. Place the meter in front of the reader, so that the infrared windows are facing each other. They should be about 4 inches apart. Turn the meter on in data transfer mode. Check your User's Manual to find out how.
    • Accu-Chek Aviva meters: Press the left and right arrows simultaneously for more than 3 seconds.
    • Accu-Chek Nano meter: With the meter off, press and hold both arrow buttons until the 2 arrows on the display alternately flash.
    • Accu-Chek Compact Plus meter: Press the S and M buttons at the same time.
  3. Data transfer starts automatically. Your report will appear in your default Internet browser, so you can view and print it.

Getting started

The Accu-Chek Smart Pix system uses infrared technology to "beam" data from an Accu-Chek blood glucose meter or insulin pump when it is placed near the reader. This simple connectivity means greater convenience and faster downloads for you.

There's no need to load software. Everything you need is already within the Accu-Chek Smart Pix device reader. Just plug it into a USB port to get started.

The device simply plugs into any available USB port. Just plug it in and it's ready to go.

The Accu-Chek Smart Pix system is compatible with:

  • Accu-Chek Nano blood glucose meter
  • Accu-Chek Aviva blood glucose meter
  • Accu-Chek Aviva Expert blood glucose meter
  • Accu-Chek Compact Plus blood glucose meter
  • Accu-Chek Spirit Combo and Accu-Chek Spirit insulin pumps
  • Accu-Chek 360° diabetes management system

Your computer system must have at least:

  • IBM-compatible PC
  • Windows® 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista™ or Windows 7
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox or other compatible Web browser
  • Available USB port
  • Color printer preferred
  • Minimum display resolution of 1024 x 768
